Principles to Create a World in Balance
The Center aims to empower the public to think critically and to move their societies away from the state of ignorance and corruption and into the realm of liberty, equality and solidarity.
We will create a world based on liberty, equality and solidarity.
We see peace
as not merely the absence of armed conflict, but the presence of liberty, equality and solidarity.
We see conflict prevention
as an integrated approach involving disarmament, building trust, and nonviolence, aimed at achieving a common culture based on principles of liberty, equality and solidarity.
We see education
as not merely the accumulation of knowledge, but the liberation of the individual and the community based on a holistic awareness of rights and responsibilities.
We see employment
as not merely the means for a community's consumption, production and organization, but the development of the individual and the common search for a society based on principles of liberty, equality and solidarity.
We see democracy
as not merely the guarantee of good governance, individual rights and liberties, and respect for the rule of law, but the active empowerment, engagement and leadership of the citizenry in upholding the principles of liberty, equality and solidarity.
We see economy
as not merely the organization of basic human needs, but the fostering of sustainability and good relations between communities, and the prioritization of liberty, equality and solidarity over profit.
We see health
as not merely the resilience of body and mind, but as a human right enabling the individual and the community to exist in a state of wholeness and fulfillment.
We see the environment
as a common space to be enjoyed, preserved and fostered, in accordance with basic human needs, through local and organic production, in balance with ecosystems and within the carrying capacity of the planet.
We see diversity
as the recognition that each individual is unique, that the community he or she wishes to be part of should be treated with respect, that we share a common humanity, and that life is sacred.
