The Center for a World in Balance is a global cooperative initiative that focuses on key interconnected problem areas our world faces and develops a common and coherent answer to these problems, through the effective promotion of democracy, human rights and environmental sustainability. The various crises we are facing today cannot be tackled using mechanisms or institutions that allowed these crises to occur. We need a new set of values and new guiding principles that work for all of us.

The Center was founded in 2008. Its core activities are rights-based and include the promotion of civil and political rights as well as economic, social and cultural rights while stressing their indivisibility. Its holistic approach acknowledges the inseparability of man and nature, our common humanity and the need to find a structural balance in the relations and activities of human life on a living planet. The Center aims to empower the public to think critically and to move their societies away from the state of ignorance and corruption and into the realm of liberty, equality and solidarity.

The Center's core activities consist of:

1. Promoting Non-violence, Disarmament and Diplomacy
2. Promoting the Right to Education
3. Promoting Sustainable Employment and Labour Rights
4. Promoting Democracy, Transparency and Human Rights
5. Promoting Economic and Social Justice
6. Promoting the Right to Health
7. Promoting Sustainability
8. Promoting Cultural and Spiritual Diversity

A world in balance is a world where the economy serves the public interest, where people respect and care for each other and live in accordance with the natural environment.
